2017 Daytona 500 Fantasy NASCAR Driver Rankings

It’s never too early to start talking Daytona, so I enlisted the help of fellow FNP analyst David Rochester (@DR_FNP) to get our early opinions for the 2017 Daytona 500 together.

There’s still plenty of time (41 days at the time of publication) until the green flag waves and plenty of on-track activity (The Clash, qualifying and The Duels) to analyze before Fantasy NASCAR rosters lock. As a result, we’ll be adjusting and updating our Daytona 500 Fantasy NASCAR Driver rankings throughout Speedweeks, but this is a good starting point to set the table for The Great American Race.

Where are we right? Where are we wrong? At first glance, I think Dave is way off on Matt Kenseth’s ranking, but that’s a discussion/drunken Twitter argument for another day. Feel free to leave your thoughts in the comments section at the bottom of the page.

  1. Haha, I think you’re right. We actually have a bet for the Daytona 500 regarding who has the better finish, Harvick or Kenseth.

  2. Greg Stenger says:

“…I think Dave is way off on Matt Kenseth’s ranking…” And Dave probably thinks you’re way off on Harvick’s ranking! LMAO!

  3. Yes, Clint Bowyer is taking over Tony Stewart’s #14 car for Stewart-Haas Racing.

Does Boyer have a new ride this year?? details please

  5. That’s a good question. I still need to talk to Dave and Kyle and see what they’re thinking for 2017. I know we won’t do any weekend rankings (after practice and qualifying) simply due to lack of time. But early week rankings are still up in the air.

You guys going to be doing rankings again this year or is this just for the 500 to get the FNP season rolling for 2017?
