Aaron’s 499 Preview

I won’t bore you this week with stats, as stats mean very little here. All that matters this week is picking drivers who will avoid the big wreck. Sounds easy enough right?

We will get to see two practice sessions. However, practice speeds mean very little here. So my strategy is simple, pick the drivers who will stay out of trouble and who I may not use nine times. If there’s ever a week to listen to your gut, this is it.

Also there are some free qualifying points this week. Last year Hendrick was the team to have in qualifying. I think it’s Roush-Fenway Racing who will get you the qualifying points this year. They dominated qualifying at Daytona.

A List

Carl Edwards- Carl’s known for riding in the back at the restrictor-plate races in order to stay out of the big wreck. With around 50 laps to go, Edwards will make his move to the front. The 99 team is coming on and I don’t see me using all nine of his starts, so Carl is my starter at Talladega.

Matt Kenseth- Matt won the Daytona 500 this year, but he’s only on my team for qualifying.
