Kobalt Tools 500 Lockdown/Practice Breakdown

I can’t stress enough how important qualifying is going to be this week. The groove widened a bit in practice, but it’s still going to be really hard to pass this weekend. I think there’s going to be even less passing than we saw at Kentucky Speedway.

A List- 14, 99, 17, 29, 48, 24, 18, 16, 22, 11

Tony Stewart is as happy as anyone in practice again this week and looks to continue his assault on Carl Edwards. He was one of the few cars I saw pass cars in the second groove in practice. Smoke will be up front all weekend again this week and is my starter as of now.

Carl Edwards is my qualifier to pair with Smoke. I see Edwards as the best chance for qualifying points in the A list and he’s not bad in race trim either. Only bad thing is he didn’t run many consecutive laps, so I don’t quite know how good the No. 99 is in race trim. Carl said they have a really fast car though and that’s good enough for me.

Matt Kenseth might have a faster car than Edwards. However I’ll take the two guys who are in the Championship hunt and call it a day.  I don’t think anyone else in A list is a legitimate threat for the win this week.

I want to thank you, Kyle, for helping this rookie fantasy nascar player this year. My friend asked me to be on his leagues and I was a little afraid to compete with the guys but here is what is happening …I am 1st in 3 leagues and 2nd in the allocation league. Your site and advice has been my secret weapon. Thanks again.
