Just like Yahoo, I’m not too concerned about the A List. These are your studs and you should be able to navigate 10 races with them. It’s important to get value out of everyone since you only get one start with each driver, so make sure you don’t burn through Kyle Busch, Jimmie Johnson and Carl Edwards right away. For example, I’m looking hard at Clint Bowyer this weekend at New Hampshire since he won this race last year and has been a rocket in practice.
The C List is a week to week thing because there are no limits on starts with these drivers. So go with the best driver each week and you’ll be fine.
Just like Yahoo, the B List is where this game will be won and lost. You start two B List drivers each week, and get to use each driver twice over the course of the Chase. That means you need 20 total starts. Right now, I see 7 drivers who are automatic 2 start drivers, and they are: Kasey Kahne, David Ragan, Brian Vickers, Ryan Newman, Martin Truex Jr., Kurt Busch, and Mark Martin. That’s 14 total starts, meaning you need 6 starts from other drivers over the course of the season. Because we get to see practice times and qualifying before selecting our drivers, it shouldn’t be too difficult to pick sleepers and I really see no reason to go out of the way to conserve drivers.
