Practice breakdown, Richmond

A drivers

Kyle Busch is the class of the field in all classes. He is absolutely awesome here. Give him the pole and the #1  pit position and a fast race car and that spells trouble for the rest of the field.

Jeff Gordon would be my 2nd choice. Has track position and seemed fairly happy in race trim. His teammate Jimmie Johnson starts right beside but i wouldn’t burn Jimmie here. Not to say he can’t win but i’d save him.

Mark Martin has been struggling as of late but was happy in race trim. Mark is the 3rd choice in the A grouping.  I’m ranking Jimmie 4th.

5th ranked A driver is Denny Hamlin. Starts way back in the pack but knows how to get to the front here. I’ll rank Kurt Busch 6th, nothing of note. Not one of his better tracks.

Tony Stewart 7th as he ran lots of laps but was fighting tight in the center of the corner.

8th Juan Pablo Montoya  wasn’t all that happy even though he was fast in Qualifying trim and his teammate was fast.

I’d stay away from Roush not one of their better tracks. Kenseth is the best of the bunch though.

B list- I’d rank them 33, 29, 31, 39, 17, 00, 20, 88, 1, 12.

Thought Bowyer was fast all day, nobody was completely happy but his lap times were better than the rest. Harvick up front is bad news for the rest of the field. I had Bowyer and Harvick penciled in here but Newman is tugging at me quite a bit. Logano was also happy in race trim but i’ll more than likely go with experience here.

C list- I’d rank them 43, 77, 82, 98. Really wanted to use Hornish Jr. but AJ looks stout and starts near the front. If you haven’t noticed i think track position is critical at Richmond.

Picking Kyle Busch to win.  Good luck FNPers!!! Let’s move up the rankings, lord knows i need it.

Practice breakdown, Phoenix

Didn’t watch much of practice due to work but here goes.  Going to incorporate Randy’s format somewhat this week. Let me know what you guys want to see.

A Drivers i’d rank Mark Martin 1st over Johnson and Kurt Busch. Then Biffle, Stewart, Kyle Busch, and Montoya. Hamlin has a very fast car but i wouldn’t risk it as it will be tough for him to go the whole way. I’m leaning Martin over Jimmie as he may be in test mode again.

B list is a mess. I’ll rank them 33, 31, 29, 39, 88, 20, 83, 00, 17, 56, 9 and 1. You could argue that 88, 83, and 1 are the strongest but not by any means the safest. I’m leaning Bowyer and Burton this week. Truex didn’t look fast at all. I’m strongly going to look at crew chief notes this week and qualifying will also weigh in very heavily.

C list i rank them 43, 98, 77, 82, 71, 78. No one else is worth consideration in my book and that includes Gilliland. I’m leaning AJ but i’ll look for a reason to save him.

Several cars spun in practices as the track was very slick. 48, 18, 14 and 47 all spun out but none did any damage.

I’ll pick Mark Martin to win. Really like Vickers this week but he’s not on my yahoo roster. Newman is also a good candidate to save a start. If i had both i’d run them and save the studs, unless they start 30th or worse. Again sorry gang for not being able to give practice my full attention.

Good luck FNPers!!! Let’s get some pts, lord knows i could use some.
