Practice breakdown, Bristol

Friday, August 20th, 2010

Track position, track position, and pit stall selection. Keys to the race. You want a pit stall on the front stretch.

A list ranks- 14, 48, 99, 11, 18, 2, 24, 16, 5, 42.

Just got a hunch on Smoke. Wouldn’t suprise me at all to see Jimmie do the double.

Biffle said the car just isn’t as good as it’s been in the past here.

B list ranks- 31, 17, 39, 33, 00, 29, 9, 20, 56, 1, 88, 12, 47. 6

May start Newman and Kenseth, but Burton will get a look look as i see him as a top 5 car.

Perfect place and situation to start Newman, can’t stress that enough.

Bowyer got loose in qualifying and should be pretty strong as he makes his way to a top 10.

Good place to use Kenseth as well, Biffle is trying his setup they said.

Stay away from Harvick this week. Save for the chase.

Jr. starts too far back for my blood. Really like Keselowski as a sleeper

C list ranks- 43, 98, 83, 78, 83, 77.

AJ spun out twice in practice and if you have Menard that’s probably the way to go.

Speed is worth a flier and is my sleeper in this group.

Regan starts too far back to use in my opinion.

Race winner: Tony Stewart

B list sleepers Newman and Kez

Paythefan team 99, 14, 18, 17, 12, 82. Also like 39 in A and 00 in B

Yahoo team is still up for grabs but as of now 99, 17, 39, 98 over 18, 33, 31, 78.

Good luck FNPers!!!

Practice Breakdown, Michigan

Saturday, August 14th, 2010

A list ranks-  16, 14, 48, 99, 11, 24, 42, 5, 18, 2

Biffle and Stewart are my favorites in A, had trouble ranking them. Didn’t think Hamlin was bad at all on long runs.

Not sure what Gordon has, hard to read. Gordon wasn’t happy though from what i hear. Mark Martin was pretty happy with the car and could easily beat this ranking.

B list rank- 29, 31, 9, 33, 17, 00, 39, 20, 88, 56, 6, 1

Harvick is my choice for race winner. Burton right behind and could win easily.

Kahne was pretty sporty and definitely top 1o material.

For those that have Bowyer he looked pretty good but will probably play it conservative.

Kenseth looked a lot better this weekend and is probably a lock for my roster.

Reutimann is my sleeper, Truex also not bad.  Also Ragan looks really fast even though i doubt anyone has him on their roster.

Jr. has a good history here and was pretty respectable in happy hour. However starts way back and one would could find much safer options.

C list ranks- 98, 78, 43, 21, 77, 82, 83.

Wow, AJ isn’t ranked first. Menard very good on long runs and has been fast all weekend, plus he starts 10th. LOCK!

Regan Smith looks really fast as well, good pick PJ!

AJ Allmendinger’s bunch tried a lot of different packages and i don’t think they are happy. I’m sure he could beat 78 or 98 but i would save AJ.

Bill Elliot is the best of the rest and should get you a solid 25th place finish.

Sam Hornish was ok but nothing stellar at all. Rest are junk.

Race winner Kevin Harvick

Sleepers 00 and 6

paythefan team will be 16, 99, 17, 29, 6, 21. Also like 14 in A, Kahne in A, 00 in B, 88 in B. C list give me 6 for sure then 21 or 78. You almost have to run 21 since he has only 3 more races left this year. Michigan, Atlanta, and Homestead.

Yahoo i’m thinking 11 or 24…leaning 11. Then 9, 17, 98.

Good luck FNPers!!!

Practice Breakdown, Watkins Glen

Saturday, August 7th, 2010

I waited until qualifying was over because you guessed it, track position will be huge.

A list ranks- 14, 99, 11, 16, 42, 18, 2, 48, 24, 5.

I can’t pick against Smoke here, sorry. Plus he was happy with his car after Happy Hour.

The next 4 are really close but i don’t trust Montoya. He’ll either win or finish 35th. Roush looks really strong and wouldn’t suprise me to see Biffle or Car in victory lane.

I’m sure Jimmie and Jeff would laugh at this ranking and use it as motivation but they just haven’t looked as good as i though they would. You could probably rank them ahead of the Busch brothers. I really think the first 5 are the way to go though.

B list ranks- 47, 29, 1, 31, 33, 39,56, 20,17, 9, 6, 19, 12, 00

I’m going with Ambrose who doesn’t look as good as he usually does but good enough for me. My other starter will be Harvick or JMac. I really like Harvick and am leaning his way as he says he messed up his lap and the car is really good.

Jamie McMurray has impressed the hell out of me this weekend though and will get a long look as i would love to get a top 10 out of him. I really don’t suggest anybody else this week. Others don’t have track position and i wouldn’t burn a Bowyer or Burton start here.

Logano is my sleeper, along with Truex jr.

Sorry Matt Kenseth fans. You have a way of getting good finishes but no way i would burn a start on Matt here. Even with Ford’s looking good. I’ll be loading up on Ford’s next week though.

C list ranks- 43, 83, 7, 82, 77, 26, 36, 98, 13.

AJ looks awesome if you have more than 2 starts left, i’d run him. Red Bull cars look really good and i will be starting Boris i believe.

I have been cautiously impressed with Sam Hornish this week, he’s my sleeper.

Robby looks average but i’m expecting a top 15 atleast. Don’t like the equipment that Ron Fellows is in or he would be higher.

No i would not waste a start with Menard here.

Pick to win is Tony Stewart…but watch those Ford’s

Sleeper picks are 56 and 20

Yahoo team will be 14, 47, 29 or 1, and 83

Paythefan is looking like 42, Vickers, 43, 47, 83, 7. Have to get rid of Vickers somewhere. Might as well do it here. Also like Biffle and Carl in A. Harvick in B. Speed in C might also work out. Carpentier not a bad pick either.

Good Luck FNPers!!!
