Yahoo has officially opened its 2012 fantasy racing leagues, allowing us to see this season’s A, B and C List groupings. I haven’t done any significant analysis yet, but here are my initial impressions:
- There are only nine drivers in the A List as opposed to the usual 10. With Kyle Busch, Jimmie Johnson, Jeff Gordon, Carl Edwards and Tony Stewart here, who cares about the 10th driver?
- The B List is absolutely loaded. It only took 30 seconds of scanning the drivers to know that the winner of your Yahoo league will be the person who earns the most points from the B List.
- The downside of an exceptionally deep B List is a horribly shallow C List. Thirty more seconds of scanning this grouping made me sick to my stomach. Last season, my weekly goal was a Top 20 for my C List driver. This season, Top 25′s will seem like small victories.
