With so much success picking breakout drivers over the past three seasons, we’ve decided to curse…err…select Brad Keselowski as our breakout driver for the 2010 Sprint Cup season.
Keselowski showed flashes of brilliance in 15 Sprint Cup starts last season, including an improbable win at Talladega after Carl Edwards’ wild ride. Brad has now had an entire off-season to get acclimated to his new ride at Penske and should surprise many this season.
All of this cursed love begs one simple question: How big will his breakout be? Check back later this week and see if we like Keselowski enough to select him as one of our 12 drivers to make the 2010 Chase.
Which driver do you expect to breakout in 2010? Will it be Keselowski? What about Joey Logano, Marcos Ambrose, A.J. Allmendinger or Sam Hornish Jr.? Or is it someone completely off the radar? Be sure to head to the comments section below and post your thoughts on the 2010 Sprint Cup Series breakout driver.

Ambrose could be a darkhorse. The equipment is getting better and if he continues to improve on the same curve, he could squeeze in there as the 12th driver to make the Chase.
I like Ambrose’s competiveness and respect for the sport and his fellow drivers. Lots of talent too. I would pick him as a possible darkhorse to make the Chase, but he’s unfortunately driving for a mediocre team that hasn’t performed all that well on the intermediate tracks. There was some improvement with him/them late in the year on those track types and if that continues Ambrose may make it. But I don’t know…Might have to wait til next year or until he moves on to a more well funded team.
They’re both talented and are in great rides, but I’ll take the driver with some attitude and edge to achieve success sooner.
Logano or Kes. They both have great equipment, are young, and most importantly have tasted victory and are hungry for more.
