The Sprint Cup Series has the week off, so let’s take a look at what we have, or more importantly haven’t, learned through the first three races of the season:
1. Carl Edwards and Kyle Busch, as expected, look to be the front runners to dethrone Jimmie Johnson and are easy nine start A List drivers.
2. Jeff Gordon is back. Well, back-ish. Gordon snapped his winless streak at Phoenix, but wasn’t very impressive at Las Vegas. Remember, the Sprint Cup Series schedule is dominated with 1.5 mile racetracks, including five Chase races.
We will have to wait until the checkered flag waves at Kansas in June before we truly know whether Gordon is a legit title contender.
3. Juan Pablo Montoya could be the stud of the B List. Montoya currently ranks 2nd in B List fantasy points and has the best average finish of all drivers in the group.
4. Jeff Burton looks horrible. Burton is 32nd in Sprint Cup points and 14th out of 15 drivers in B List points. Ouch.
I know, Greg Biffle only ranks 31st in points, but Biffle has been fast while Burton hasn’t shown any ability to pass racecars.
5. Charlie Sheen and Britney Spears would have some crazy-ass babies.
