2. Sam Hornish Jr. (9)
One sentence ago, I proclaimed that an advantage to running Regan Smith was the ability to save a start with Hornish. Barring anything crazy happening to Smith, like a crash in practice, Hornish is merely a place holder on my roster.
Due to the unique qualifying procedure for the Daytona 500, Yahoo allows us to edit our entire rosters until five minutes before the green flag waves. So in the unfortunate situation that Smith does find trouble before Sunday, we can still replace him or Hornish with another driver.
While we’re on the topic of practice crashes and other unfortunate circumstances, this roster is simply a starting point for the Daytona 500. Some teams may even make their cars better during practice, giving me a reason to tweak my roster.
Any changes I make to this, or any roster throughout the season, will be immediately posted in our NASCAR Forum. If you are new to the website, please feel free to head to the forum, get registered and post your thoughts, opinions, questions and rosters for this week’s race.
