Well, it’s back to short-track racing this week and there’s nothing quite like it. We won’t get the benefit of seeing any practice before locking down this week. Richmond is unlike any other track on the Sprint Cup Circuit. So, I’ll be looking at the last four races there, plus results from Phoenix this year. Phoenix is the most similar track to Richmond in my opinion.
A-List Ranks
1. Denny Hamlin- It never hurts that he won last week heading to perhaps his best track. Hamlin owns a 5.8 average finish in the last four races at Richmond, with three top 10s and has led 289 laps in that span. Denny also has a win and a driver rating of 110.8 over those four races. He also won at Phoenix earlier in the year and has to be the early favorite to win Saturday Night at Richmond.
2. Kyle Busch- Usually Rowdy Busch would be my top ranked A driver at Richmond. He sports a 2.5 average finish in the last four at Richmond, with four top 10s and 461 laps led. Kyle’s won two of the last four and has a Series-high driver rating of 123.3. Busch hasn’t had a good year up to this point, but Richmond is a great track for him to rebound.
I believe Sammy was the highest ranking C driver at Kansas…should of took my advice.
Richmond starters for me will be; 11, 56, 39, 47…I might (again might) put the 20 car in place of the 39, not much confindence in Ryan…Your thoughts?
